Easy In and Out
EXTREMELY Limited Parking
Limited Food Options
Obviously, this isn't a place trying to cater to over the road drivers. Maybe local trucks stop here for snacks & fuel, but as a long-haul driver, I wouldn't want to to wait here for a shower only to have to get out before my parking time expires. I decided to take my business down the road.

I’ve been to some really nice, albeit small, Road Ranger locations in the midwest. The one off Interstate 55 in southern Springfield, Illinois may be the smallest I’ve seen and really isn’t my favorite.
Let’s start with kudos for fresh pizza in the hot deli. And a clean parking lot. Beyond that…hmm. Access from I-55 is easy in & out using exit 90.
The parking lot only has room for about 20 trucks, I don’t care what Pilot Flying-J claims, there is no way you can get 55 trucks in here unless they’re all lined up as bobtails.
It’s clean, as mentioned before, also paved and well lit. BUT there is a sign posted which states “Trucks: 3-hour maximum parking time limit, NO overnight parking, 30 minute idle limit”. Wow.
There is no scale at this location.
Six fuel lanes with DEF. Easy in & out. Lanes were clean & had the token water buckets & squeegees. I did notice no wait to fuel even in the late afternoon. Hmm.
Clean enough. Really dogged small – as in, take a number small.
Two showers here but I didn’t stick around to try one. If you have, please leave your thoughts on it below!
If you’re hungry, the pizza is good. Beyond that, there’s a hotdog rotisserie and the usual convenience store fare.
At first, I thought, “what staff?” Then I did see a guy working away behind the counter. He was quite friendly and professional.
